Welcome to the Eastleigh
Judokwai Notice Board

If you want to know what's going on at the
club, including future competition and grading dates, then
this is the place to be.
Throughout the year our club members take part in local and national competitions and gradings.
When members of our club achieve success (which happens very
frequently) we like to shout about it!
Here is a running list, most recent first, of
the various achievements throughout the year, plus cuttings that
have appeared in local papers and national magazines.
Venue:
Salisbury Open
Date: July 2011
Les (in white) entered
the veterans in under 90 kilos, and Giorgi in blue entered
the mens in the over 100 kilos at the Salisbury open comp on
Sunday 17th July 2011, both winning well earned gold medals.
A double whammy for Eastleigh judokwai!!
Mick and Lins were both
there to offer support. Senior coach Mick was very pleased
with both Giorgi and Les as they both fought very well and
did the club proud! A great achievement for them both.
Venue: Crawley K2
Date: June 2011
Another great Day for
Sophie who fought her way forward to win a silver in the
southern area comp at k2 crawley in June 2011.
Sophie has only just
started competing in competitions outside the club. Don't be
fooled by Sophie's timid demeanour in this photo!! She is
very motivated and is already earning a reputation for
getting what she wants on the mat!
A great day for her, and
Mick and Lins are very proud to see how well she has stepped
up to the mark in competition!

Venue: Samurai Judo
Competition
Date: 5 March 2011
Samuel and Sophie took
centre stage at the samurai Judo comp in March 2011, both
taking well earned gold medals to further enhance Eastleigh
Judokwai's reputation for skill based coaching. It was
Samuels first comp as he is only 5years of age, which was a
great achievement. Both Sophie and Samuel did an amazing job
on on the day and all the coaches are very proud of them!
Well done!!!

Venue: High Wycombe
Masters
Date: March 2011
Martin Burton under
100kilos went to High Wycombe Masters comp in March 2011 and
won all his contest's to come away with the gold medal,
beating more experienced and higher graded players in the
process.
This was a proud day for
Martin and Mick was there to lend support and offer his
congratulations :-)

New for 2009 - Videos of our players at
this years major tournaments. Lets start with Aaron at the
Hampshire Closed!
Eastleigh
Judokwai players performed superbly again, this time in the
Hampshire Closed Championships. Aaron took the gold medal in
the under 30s comp and did really well on the day, beating
his rival and fellow club mate Jake Fay. Jake took silver in
the same event and Katy took silver in the girls under
27kilos weight group. Lasha did well in his first
competition as a senior and took silver in the under
66kilos.

Date: July 2008

Another blistering performance from the
Eastleigh Judoka, this time at the 2008 Hampshire Open in
Portsmouth. Some fine performances were put in, not least
from our very own club coach Lindsey who fought her way to a
superb Gold in the +78 category.
Not to be outdone by the coach, Jake
was awesome in his u27kg final to gain Gold, Katy picked up
a well deserved u25kg silver, with Kelly in the u32kg and
Aaron in the u27kg both bringing home a well fought bronze
apiece. In the seniors, our only male competitor this year
saw Patrick blast his way to a u100kg bronze with some fine
aggressive judo.
Well done to all. Apologies for the
picture quality - Mick may be a great Head Coach but he
needs a little more practice with the camera phone!

There must be something about the
Mountbatten Centre that brings out the best in our players!
The under 27kg category saw both Katie
Riggs and Jake Fay come away with well earned Silver Medals,
with both players putting in some fine performances to reach
the finals.
Mick & Lindsay are justly proud of their
students and we all look forward to seeing Katie, Jake and
all the other Eastleigh Judokwai students fighting for
grades this coming Sunday!
